About you and this role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Time and Absence Specialist to join our team in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.
 
As Time and Absence Specialist, you enable a best-in-class employee experience through exceptional service delivery and subject matter consultation for Time and Absence. This includes the management, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions.
 
Furthermore, as Time and Absence Specialist you will lead the implementation of Time and Absence systems as part of our roadmap for one or several countries in EMEAI. The main objective is to ensure that the employees’ Time and Absence is processed timely and accurately, is aligned to compliance with the respective country tax-legislation, agreed labor conditions and company rules and regulations. By nature, this job requires a substantial amount of coordination with a variety of internal and external stakeholders where accountability and ownership of data and processes are key.
 
In this role you’re responsible to drive the implementation of the Time and Absence System, innovation, execution of agreed service levels, and achieve operational excellence in the area of Time and Absence. In your work you demonstrate structure and process orientation, with an eye for detail. Flexibility is key for your tasks, with a high work capacity. In your interactions with local and international partners, you present specialist knowledge in an understandable and winning manner, and are perceived as a valuable advisor.
 
Responsibilities
• Delivering the implementation of Time & Absence system for the countries in EMEAI in a productive and efficient manner.
• Leading Time and Absence strategic improvement projects, change projects.
• Develop and implement Time and Absence strategy.
• Monitoring and management of work process which involves many different local application or manual process and data to and from internal employees and related working partner functions.
• Processing information with confidentiality and with a high level of accuracy.
• Ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees and local authorities.
• Maintaining a “best in class” internal/external compliance landscape and develop it as internal/external compliance environment change.
• Coordination over internal and external financial audits.
• Strong collaboration with HR and controller’s department.
• Serve as a primary focal point and bridge for/between the payroll contact, employees and different functions within the organization for Time and Absence related inquiries.
• Lead and coordinate Time and Absence System implementation and associated change management
• Understand the different countries regulation and practice as part of the transition to the centralized model
• Improve current process and working closely with Regional Work process leader and SME.
• Perform activities according to the Dow internal control & compliance framework including internal and external audits.
• Participate in process improvement projects.
 
Qualifications
• You have a Master or Bachelor degree in HR, Finance or related area.
• You bring a minimum of 5 years of Time and Absence or payroll experience, both at a technical and practical level in diverse business and work processes or other relevant job experience.
• Your professional experience can either be within Time and Absence, Payroll, Finance or HR compensation and benefits, where you will have gained practical experience with designing / operating centralized business models.
• Fluency in English (written & oral) is required
• Understand organizational interdependencies and have cross-functional & cross culture change management experience.
• Strategic and analytical mindset combined with strong communication and persuasion skills.
• Experience of managing complex labor / Time and Absence, payroll related legislations, collaborating with the HR function in common areas of benefits, etc.
• Experience with Workday, ADP eTime/Workforce Manager is an advantage. Experience with Time and Absence system implementation and associated projects is an advantage.
• Strong Project Management, consulting and change management skills.
 
Preferred Skills
• Fluency in Dutch or any additional European languages would be an asset.
