Project Engineer Offshore Structural (UK)

Heerema Vlissingen, located in the southwest of the Netherlands, specializes in the design and manufacture of offshore steel structures. Our yard is specially equipped for all sizes of jacket constructions.

We also assist our sister company Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC). HMC transports and installs offshore structures by manufacturing equipment and grillage (transport frames) and installing it on the transportation barges using our cranes and quayside.

Offshore constructions play an important role in the energy supply and will be increasingly needed, which means that Heerema is also looking forward to a busy time. That is why we are looking for reinforcements for our team.

For the Vlissingen Yard in Vlissingen we are looking for a

Project Engineer Offshore Structural (1.0 fte)

The work has an independent character, which requires you to be structured and able to keep overview, but you work as a team together with the Project Manager and Construction Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and evaluate the design input (design drawings and specifications) for the jobs and projects;
• Prepare the MTO (bill of materials) and corresponding labor hours estimate as part of the offer;
• At the same time, considering that the work may be carried out, providing all data necessary to upload the work into our computer system (IFS);
• Assess design quality and query if information is unclear or missing in direct communication with your HMC partner;
• Check the design drawings for manufacturing friendliness, specifically the indicated welds, using your production experience and suggest alternatives if required;
• After order award, complete the MTO sheet with position and weld numbers and add weld numbers to the HMC drawings;
• Make additional sketches (work drawings), considering the correct weld preparation (bevels);
• Upload all information in IFS and Weldeye (welding production management software) using an Apex interface.

Required:

• BSc in engineering (preferable in structural discipline) or equivalent;
• Use of CAD software (Tekla, MicroStation, AutoCAD);
• Good computer skills (MS office, IFS);
• Experience in engineering, project preparation and execution of steel fabrication projects;

• Excellent knowledge, communication and negotiation skills in the Dutch and English language

Preferred:

• Have experience and a comprehensive understanding of technology relevant to the offshore energy market;
• Relevant experience with executing multidiscipline offshore projects in a coordination/leading position.
